The hotel has been vastly improved since new ownership, the room although basic was more than adequate for our needs, the staff were friendly. Maybe the breakfast selection could be improved, other than that I have no faults and will be staying again
The staff were fantastic, location was perfect for us (went as Gavin and Stacey tourists and the hotel was actually used twice in filming!). We had a car and could park right outside our room in their courtyard carpark. The price was fantastic so I was expecting a run down room but our room was a new extention. It was a triple room so we had two single beds, a double bed, big bathroom, tv with lots of channels, and lots of space for our clothes. We will definitely be going back, had an amazing weekend! We were also given an early checkin at no extra cost.
Although room was clean and comfortable, tv did not work, and in morning went for breakfast but no service, had cereal then left
Hotel staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Room was clean and tidy with towels and soap on each bed. Lovely clean crisp white linen on the beds.
Our room was large but the bathroom/toilet, although very clean was very basic. Shower drizzled either freezing cold or boiling hot, nothing in between. Friends bed had a large dip in the middle which meant she didn't sleep. Heating wasn't working so the room was a bit on the cold side.
comfortable, friendly, clean, next door to a great pub, near to take-aways and bus and train station, not far away from Cardiff, able to come and go as you please.Staff are very friendly and obliging.Car park next door, continential breakfasts, have as much as you like.Would deffinately go back.
Had no where to put your clothes,no wardrobe,or drawers, kept them in the case.
The Karaoke on Saturday evening was very entertaining on our return tot he hotel following dinner out in Cardiff.
Help yourself breakfast could have worked but not very well laid out and no mugs available. After reviewing the very limited choice available we checked out and had breakfast in town.
The fact that our room was in the new annexe that was only a year old. The lock on the door was very stiff, so it was difficult to get in and out but otherwise it was perfect for the one night that we stayed in Barry.
The main building was very old, as was the bar, and the garden at the rear, together with the car park, could have done with a decent clear up.
Every member of the staff that we dealt with was excellent and did their very best to make our stay comfortable.
It is quite run down and the grounds not cared for.
George, the lady behind reception and the bar, and seemed to do eveything on her own was very hardworking and helpful. We were a group of 8 girls celebrating a 40th birthday and wanted to all be together, she did this straight away when realised our rooms had been split up and because we had to literally unpack and head into town for the Gavin and Stacey tour she even moved all of our things while we were out. We were in the annex part of the hotel which was fairly modern, the triple room we were in consisted of a double bed and two single, all of which fitted in the room with ample space. When we returned later on in the evening, she was happy for us to bring our takeaway into the hotel. Thanks.
The hotel was further away from Barry than would have liked, however this is stated on the website. The area in which the hotel is located can be a bit off-putting but the people of Barry are very friendly.
The staff and customers in the bar were really friendly. The bar had a relaxed atmosphere and it was perfect for what we wanted.
my father and i were there for the wales v scotland match, the tadross was everything we needed.we usually stay in cardiff for wales matches but left it to late to book,so the tadross was a bit of a last option, and thank god for that.we will definately stay there again, cheers.oh and wales won, sound cheers
its so simple inexpensive accomadation, inexspesive proper bar, sound staff,no problem
Once booked in i/we were left to ourselves to come and go as and when we pleased, breakfast was available until 10am it was a basic breakfast but non the less was adequate. The room was clean and tidy with towels left for each person the bathroom was a little small but was serviceable .
Stayed at this hotel I found everything I needed lovely people exept I ad a hangova lol
I liked very much that they had a roomy outside area with benches, and they had a smoking area under roof with heating and tv outside. An excellent choice for any football fan! Also, there was a jumping castle (sadly, just for the kids...). Very short distance to train station and shopping street. Affordable price, big comfortable room (double room). Not lukewarm, but lovely hot water in the shower :d The staff was super- friendly, ask anything attitude. All in all, a great stay for me in Barry, Wales.
The shower head could use an upgrade.
The entertainment was on until 1.20am and was so loud it litteraly shook the headboard on the bed. Not a good hotel for a good nights sleep. Breakfast was not impressive
